Luke was born just outside the Clare Valley in South Australia. His initial interest in wines was sparked by friends of his parents who were involved with wineries Taylors and Sevenhill and he grew up with a desire to enter the wine trade. After completing a Bachelor of Agricultural Science at Adelaide University majoring in Viticulture in 1999, he joined Hardy’s Tintara operation in McLaren Vale as a Viticultural Technical Officer, where he stayed until 2003. Luke wanted a holistic view of the winemaking process and jumped at the opportunity to work in the West with Forest Hill as their Viticulturist. Whilst employed with Forest Hill, Luke completed a Post Graduate Degree in Oenology, again through Adelaide University. Over time he was appointed as the Operations Manager for Forest Hill and spent more time in the winery as a consequence. Luke is an avid mountain bike rider, loves fishing and the outdoors, and is the proud owner of a Border Collie named Matilda. He also supports the Adelaide Crows (that’s Australian Rules Football for our international friends)! Email: This email address is being protected from spambots.
