James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2009 Edition
Rated as an outstanding winery producing wines of exemplary quality and typicity. Will have at least two wines rated 94 points or above and have had a five star rating for the previous two years.
“This enormously successful privately owned winemaking business produces wines of true regional expression with fruit sourced from the central and southern parts of Margaret River. It’s hard to imagine the wines getting better, but we shall see.”
Rating 95 points – Outstanding
Suckfizzle Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2005
A very complex wine, maturing with unusual grace; barrel fermentation and maturation has not subdued the intense fruit; power with finesse; long finish.
Suckfizzle Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
Complex, medium bodied, blackcurrant cassis fruit, fine ripe tannins and cedary oak all seamlessly joined on the fluid and long palate
Stella Bella Margaret River Cabernet Merlot 2005
An aromatic bouquet of red fruits, then a palate bursting with flavour, led by cassis/redcurrant, followed by perfectly balanced tannins and sure French oak
Rating 94 points Outstanding
Stella Bella Margaret River Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2007
A complex bouquet and palate, suggesting barrel ferment components which however don’t impinge on the line and flow of the fruit through to the finish
Stella Bella Margaret River Chardonnay 2006
A brilliantly clean, precise and fresh chardonnay showing just how much can be achieved with early picking; the oak has been absorbed in Chablis style.
Highly recommended 90 to 93 points

Stella Bella Margaret River Sangiovese Cabernet 2006
