- Vintage Notes
What a vintage, no significant rain from September onwards, nothing but clear skies and consistent sunshine. Good viticulture reigned supreme and the cooler part of Margaret River, as always, was the place to be. Our vines thrived under the clear skies, accelerating flavour development across all varietals. Slightly lower yields, but the quality is exceptional. Expect ripe aromatics, lifted perfumes and generous textures.
- Vineyard Notes
Capturing the power and generosity of Luminosa vineyard and the mineral expression of Forest Grove vineyard.
- Winemaking
Hand-picked and whole bunch pressed. The juice was cold settled for 24 hours, then wild fermented in a combination of new and old French oak barriques. Around 10% underwent malolactic fermentation (MLF) to build texture and complexity. Battonage was undertaken based on taste throughout maturation to deliver a precise aroma, line and length. The wine was matured for 10 months before bottling.
- Tasting Notes
- Colour
Pale straw with green hues.
- Bouquet
Peach fuzz, meyer lemon blossom and pink grapefruit lift out of the glass, perfectly complimented with a smokey gun flint edge and toasty nougat notes.
- Palate
The palate bursts with juicy ripe peach, nectarine and a squeeze of fresh lime. A subtle mealy complexity from MLF adds texture and shape, delivering precision and tension from the tip of your tongue to the back of your palate. Mouth watering mineral acidity, created by the summer sea breezes blowing through our vineyards, brings an element of saltiness and a spring water liveliness, which leaves you wondering where the bottle went.
