South of the Border Tasting

On Sunday 23rd July 2017 we hosted an exclusive tasting and long lunch at Frasers Restaurant with very special guests James Halliday and some of Perth's key hospitality influencers.

This special event marked the official trade release of our multi-award winning 2014 Stella Bella Serie Luminosa Cabernet Sauvignon. A very anticipated and popular wine after taking out the trophies for

  • Best Cabernet Sauvignon - 2016 Langton’s Margaret River Wine Show 
  • Best Red Wine - 2016 Langton’s Margaret River Wine Show 
  • Best of the Margaret River Region - 2016 Halliday Cabernet Challenge. ​

The tasting was named ‘South of the Border’ and focused on the evolution of our wines and the key differences and benefits of growing and making these beautiful wines in southern Margaret River. Other wines featured and celebrated were our Suckfizzle Sauvignon Blanc Semillon and Serie Luminosa and Stella Bella Chardonnays’.

  • Bracket One – 2005, 2012 and 2014 Suckfizzle Sauvignon Blanc Semillon.
  • Bracket Two - 2008 Stella Bella, 2014 Serie Luminosa and 2016 Stella Bella Chardonnay
  • Bracket Three - 2009, 2013 and 2014 Serie Luminosa Cabernet Sauvignon.

 

Following the spectacular tasting was a luscious four-course long lunch...

  • Course One – Natural oysters with mignonette. Goldband ceviche. Wagyu tataki with Daikon. 2016 Stella Bella Semillon Sauvignon Blanc. 2008 Domaine de Chevalier. 2012 Suckfizzle Sauvignon Blanc Semillon.
  • Course Two – Celeriac and truffle cream soup. House smoked ocean trout with artichoke puree and grains. Barra belly with chickpea puree and pomegranate herb salad. 2016 Stella Bella Chardonnay. 2014 Serie Luminosa Chardonnay. 2014 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey St Aubin Le-Blanc.
  • Course Three – Whole roast Rangers Valley scotch fillet. Roast chat potato and herb butter. Crispy onions. Seasonal greens. 2014 Suckfizzle Cabernet Sauvignon. 2014 Serie Luminosa Cabernet Sauvignon. 2010 Clos du Marquis.
  • Course Four - Cheese board to finish the afternoon.
